Spring Lecture Series Continues In April

The 22nd Annual Lecture Series will be held on the following Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. All programs will be held at the Newark-Arcadia Museum, 120 High St. The lectures are free of charge (donations gratefully accepted). April 11 – Newark: the Motor City of Wayne County, by Steve Heald. Steven Heald of Sodus will give a presentation on automobiles manufactured in Newark, N.Y. The talk will cover the origin and manufacture of Mora and Browniekar cars built from 1906 through 1910.

April 18 – Learning, Laughter and Lunchboxes: 100 Years of Perkins School, by Cynthia Russell. Join us as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Perkins School, officially known as Charles H. Perkins School, built on land donated by the Perkins family. Classes began in January 1926.

April 25 – How the Streets in Newark Were Named, by John Zornow. Ever wonder who your street was named for? Find out as John Zornow tells us all about the naming of many of Newark’s streets and the history behind each one.
