Description

We are now offering the updated Marble Works book with many more pages and photos.

Verona Marble was born the daughter of Ray and Bertha Sauers Marble on December 9, 1913 in the family home at 201 East Maple Avenue, Newark, New York and she continued to live there her entire life.

Ms. Marble was a life member of the Wayne County Historical Society and the Arcadia Historical Society.  She combined her love of local history with a passion for photography.  Her eye for form and place can be seen in the  photographs she took and saved, many of which were of Newark and its environs.

These photos are in the private collection of the Sloane Family.   And now, you can see them too in the book, “Marble Works II, Photos by Verona Merribel Marble, 1930-1970,”  published by Doug Sloane and available exclusively through N-AHS.

The book is a walk through our history, with captioned images that many of you will remember and others will appreciate for their historical value.

This limited edition printing is priced at $25.00.  The books are also available at the museum.
