See the Jackson & Perkins Exhibit While You Still Can!!

Jackson & Perkins Rose Gardens

It will soon be the time of year when we begin to prepare the 2019-2020 Main Exhibit for its unveiling in June.  So there are only a few weeks left to view the current Jackson & Perkins exhibit.  This amazing exhibit closes after museum hours on Sat. May 4th.

It encompasses the entire spectrum of the world famous company with the largest gardens in the world.   Come see depictions of the Rose Festival with it’s parades and rose queen & princess contests. There are also beautiful catalogs dating back to 1928, rose wall charts and so much more!

The museum is open Saturdays, 1-3 p.m. We will gladly open other times — just give a call at 315-331-6409 or use the contact form.

Annual Meeting and Dinner

Attention members!  The annual meeting will take place on April 11, 2019 at the American Legion Hall, 200 E Union St, Newark.  The evening will include the annual elections along with dinner and a program.

Members will gather starting at 6:00 with dinner at or shortly before 7:00.  Reservations are appreciated by April 8th by calling 315-331-6409 or by using the contact form.  Payment may be made at the door.  The cost is $25/person, all inclusive.

Following dinner, we are honored to have a presentation by local author and former Wayne County Historian Marjory Allen Perez.  Author of four books, her most recent work explores the stories of local black soldiers during the Civil War and reveals a fascinating look at a relatively unknown aspect of local history.

Please plan to attend.  It promises to be a memorable evening.
