This year’s theme is “Historic Houses of Newark”. The calendar features 13 historic homes, including two cobblestones, and several that date back to the 1830s.
The calendars will be available for $10 each at the Museum on Saturdays, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. (or call for an appt. at other times), as well as Grind-On Coffee Co. (212 S. Main St.) and the Newark Public Library (across the street from the museum).
Mail orders are available. Please add $3 postage for one, $4 for two, $5 for up to three; up to 7 – $5 media mail. Send check to: N-AHS, 120 High St., Newark, NY 14513.
The cover art this year has been done by Newark native Craig Davis. It’s a wonderful watercolor of the Thomas-Comstock house on Jefferson St., built in 1831. We are grateful for his work and creativity.
One of Newark’s greatest assets is its fine homes and neighborhoods, with wonderful examples of historic architecture. You’ll get to see what the houses looked like before the library and the museum were built. Several of the homes are lost to history, but are well- remembered with great photos.
