Fairs Through the Years

Newark Fairgrounds, circa 1900

The Fall Lecture Series continues this Thursday evening Oct. 10th at 7 p.m. as Carl Bailey presents “Fairs Through the Years”. It covers from the early 1800’s through the 20th century.

Fairs date from the Middle Ages in Europe. An early land agent was the first to suggest a fair in this area.  The Wayne County Fair has a long history which will be discussed.

The lecture relates to our current exhibit on agriculture. A very interesting part of the exhibit is on the Newark Fair.

We hope you will join us!  Info: 315-331-6409.
