Cynthia Russell will present “Roosevelt School – More Than Just a Building”.  Built in 1912 and demolished in 2019, the former East Ward School has a storied past.  Cindy will provide the narrative to projected photos that reveal its years in Newark’s history.  Several artifacts will also be displayed.

Lecture on Feb. 25th To Feature Local Antique Bottles

 Lecture – Feb 25

Chris Davis will present a narrated slideshow about  antique bottles from Newark and Wayne County.  Examples of these intricate bottles will also be on display.  In addition to his prominent role with N-AHS, Chris is also the vice-president of the Genesee Valley Bottle Club.  You will see rare examples of bottle artistry from days gone by, including bottles from local drug stores, soda and beer bottlers, local dairies and more.

 Lecture – Feb 11

Sharon SanAngelo is a published author of the non-fiction book, “The Lightning Within”.  She grew up in the Finger Lakes area of New York State.   As an active Rotarian, Sharon works with the town library and schools in promoting literacy.

In 2019,  the author wrote the fiction book, “They Brought Tarnished Secrets” which was informed by the real life experiences of two local residents.  Their recollections of WW II Europe and their eventual immigration to North America helped Sharon to spin a compelling story of survival and triumph.

Sharon will have copies of her books available for purchase at a reasonable price.  She will sign your copy if you like.
