Michael Keene Lecture on Thursday, 10/1 at 11 AM

Michael Keene, one of our more popular presenters, has produced a unique online program to discuss his latest book, titled, “New York City’s Hart Island: A Cemetery of Strangers”.

 

The program is scheduled for Thurs. October 1st, 2020 and will run from 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. EST.

The book is about the history of Hart island that has been used as New York City’s Potters Field for the past 150 years. It’s estimated that there are nearly 1,000,000 people buried there.
 
As a result of recent advances in DNA and fingerprint technology we now know who some of these unfortunate people are including several famous actors, writers, and musicians. 
 
Through the use of archival photographs, original music and narration, Mike will reveal a secret kept hidden for 150 years.
