Current Exhibit Will End On June 1

N-AHS’s current exhibit “Hometown Grown: 200 Years of Agriculture” will continue through the next two Saturdays, 5/22 & 5/29. Hours are 1-3 p.m.

From the Newark Fair to Newark Nurseries, Edgett-Burnham Canning Co. to Farm Tools, this exhibit empasses quite a lot with a large number of items to see. Make sure to view it while you can!

The exhibit may be viewed during the week simply by calling 315-331-6409 and arranging an appointment or use the Contact form.

N-AHS Update

It’s been a while since we have posted, so here’s an update.

We were happy to be able to continue with the Winter Lecture Series this year after the 2020 series was curtailed.  Many came out to the Community Center to enjoy the four lectures.  In case you missed one or more, we have provided recordings on our Video page to add access for you during these Covid times.

Thanks to all of the members who sent in proxy votes for the annual meeting/election.  The total was far beyond the number required and we are happy that so many participated.  All of the nominees were elected, and you can see the list in the Administration page.

The museum is still open in a safe and secure way.  We have visitors every Saturday, and they enjoy the opportunity.  Events are being planned for the summer,  including the return of the Strawberry Social.  We will keep you informed of developments  as the date approaches.

Proxy Election of Board Members on April 22nd

We will be holding our Annual meeting and Election of Board Members by proxy again this year.  While we see encouraging signs with the pace and efficacy of vaccinations, there is still too much uncertainty to hold a mass event just yet.

Chris Davis will act as your proxy for both attendance and voting purposes.

The proxy form and instructions can be found in the current newsletter, or by clicking this link:  2021-Proxy-Form  You must be a current member to vote.

We are hoping for good participation.  Forms can be mailed (120 High St) or dropped in the mail slot at the museum.  They must arrive by April 21, 2020.
